Sutherland, San Diego



Sutherland, San Diego, is located approximately 45 mile northeast of San Diego, between Ramona and Julian. Sutherland Reservoir has got 556.8 surface acres when it is full, with a maximum water depth of 145 feet, and 5.25 shoreline miles.

The picnic area Sutherland Reservoir of San Diego consists of 4 barbecues and 12 picnic tables. Self-contained barbecues from outside are allowed for use in designated areas only. Ground fires and glass containers are strictly no. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash and should not reach within 50 feet range from the water of the reservoir. Minimum size for the Bass is 12 inches. There is a fish limit of 5 Bass, 5 Catfish and 25 Crappie whereas there is no limit on other fishes.

Use of float tubes should be restricted within 150 feet or less from the shore. Wearing a Chest Waders and having a Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation device is a must for the float tubers in the Sutherland, San Diego. They must also have a horn or whistle to warn approaching craft.

Sutherland, San Diego, is open from March to September. Sutherland is open for waterfowl hunting on Thursdays and Sundays during the season. Reservations opens from early October at the San Vicente facility in Lakeside. Turkey hunting is also popular here which is offered from late March to early May at the Lake Sutherland.

Camping is not allowed in Sutherland, San Diego. So you have to camp at Dos Picos County Park which is 12 miles west. William Heise County Park could be an another option.
